Frit Car, Inc owns and operates two railcar repair facilities. One located in Brewton, Alabama and the other located in Bridgeton, North Carolina.In July of 1974, Frit Car and Equipment Co Inc was organized and incorporated in Ozark AL as a subsidiary of Frit Industries Inc.
In July of 1978 Frit Car moved to Brewton, AL its present location. The facility was built from the ground up with 6 miles of track, a mechanical repair shop, cleaning rack and exterior painting capabilities.
In July of 1980 an interior coating facility was added and the exterior paint facility recieved a new state of the art paint booth and a full recovery blasting room.
In the mid 1980's Frit no longer maintained the equipment side of the business so it was decided to drop the wording "equipment" and today is just Frit Car, Inc.
In August of 1982 Frit Car added our Bridgeton, NC facility. The facility was purchased from Mid Atlantic and was modified to repair tank cars that included a full service repair and rubber lining facility.
In January of 2009 our new state of the art rubber lining facility in Brewton, AL was added. It boasts a capacity of 10 cars that includes interior blasting, repair, reline and curing capabilities all under one roof.
Today, January 2012, Frit Car Incs' personnel has a longevity average of 12.14 years. Frit Car has over 100 employees and is continously looking for new growth.
